I believe that nutritional therapy can help heal us. I have personal experience of this. In my early 20's I was very unwell, I was experiencing all sorts of symptoms such as constipation, stomach pains, tiredness, dizziness, nausea and general aches and pains. I was diagnosed by the medical profession as having IBS and prescribed antispasmodics to help with the stomach pains I experienced every time I ate.
I felt extremely unwell especially for a 21 year old, so I started to delve deeper on the internet looking for answers. I came across the idea of candida overgrowth . My symptoms and history (taking antibiotics for acne for 4 years) matched those of candida and I was convinced this was the problem. I read about how important nutrition was, which led me to see a Nutritional Therapist. It was a difficult recovery but with the knowledge and skills of a Nutritional Therapist I made it back to being a healthy person again, I don't honestly know where I would be today if I had not taken this step.
I was so inspired and amazed at what nutritional therapy could do I knew I wanted to train to become a Nutritional Therapist. Therefore I studied A level Biology and Chemistry to gain entry to study to become a Nutritional therapist at The Institute for Optimum Nutrition. On qualifying I set up my own business in August 2010 seeing clients on a one to one basis. I have written regular health articles for the Orton Oracle in the past, sports nutrition advice sheet for the Alzheimer's Society as well as being the in house sports Nutritional Therapist at Advance Performance.
